Kindergarten Registration

Kindergarten Registration for Chilton County Schools is scheduled for April 26-30. Children entering Kindergarten must be five (5) years old on or before September 2, 2009. Prior to enrollment, the following documents must be available: 1. Official, state certified birth certificate 2. Valid social security card 3. Current immunization form (Blue Card) 4. Proof of residence.
Maplesville will be administering the Alabama Reading and Mathematics Test (ARMT), the Stanford Achievement Test (SAT), and the Otis Lennon Student Ability Test (OLSAT) for grades 3-8 on March 24th, March 25th, March 29th, March 30th, March 31st and April 1st . Students in Kindergarten-2nd grades will be taking a Test Ready to prepare them for the assessments. These assessments will be used to determine the Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) that our school must achieve with the “No Child Left Behind” goals of the federal and state government. The results of these assessments will be returned to the school in August and will be sent home with the students at the beginning of the 2010-11 school year. It is very important for the students to get a good night’s sleep and be at school each day on time. We are accountable for attendance during testing. The first bell will ring at 7:45am. We will begin the tests promptly at 8:00am. I ask that if you have to schedule an appointment, please check to see if they can make it after 10:30 a.m. Testing will not be interrupted for student checkouts. Parent visitation to classrooms will not be allowed during these times.
